Five Stages of Team Development - Adjournment
The five stages of team development consist of forming a team, developing that team and beginning the work as an effective team. Then the team begins to function at a very high level and afterwards the project has to come to an end and the team members begin moving into a new direction. The adjourning phase of groups can be the most difficult especially for a high performing group that has established clear norms, goals and a vision that has been carried out.
The team that I was involved with concerning early child education and literacy came to an effective end and the adjournment ended in a celebration. Our goal was to get books into the community and into every child's hand and the goal was accomplished. Our team leader made sure to help us to capture our best practices used throughout the project so we can use them in the future. It was a great team.
The adjournment of my school group is highly anticipated because I cant wait to graduate; but also I will take everything that I have learned and experienced with me and will use it in the field.

Veleda,
ReplyDeleteWhen forming a team the hardest part is the beginning stage. As the vision and goals are established the team begins to work as one unit. Bonds are established within the group. This type of relationship makes adjourning hard to say good-bye.
As you are looking forward to graduation, I am excited and anticipating that day, as well.
